1. Maximum Heart Rate ($\text{MHR}$)

The standard, age-predicted Maximum Heart Rate ($\text{MHR}$) is estimated using the following simple formula:

$$ \mathbf{\text{MHR}} = 220 - \text{Age} $$

2. Target Heart Rate ($\text{THR}$)

Target zones are calculated as a percentage of your estimated $\text{MHR}$.

$$ \mathbf{\text{THR Range}} = \mathbf{\text{MHR}} \times (\text{Target Percentage Low}) \text{ to } \mathbf{\text{MHR}} \times (\text{Target Percentage High}) $$
