Total return, including reinvested dividends.

e.g., S&P 500, Russell 2000 return.

Key ETF Metrics

1. Final Value (Compound Interest)

Calculated using the ETF's net average annual return (Total Return - Tax Drag).

Final Value = P ร— (1 + r)โฟ
Where:
P = Initial Investment
r = Annual ETF Return - (Expense Ratio / 100) - (Tax Rate / 100)
n = Holding Period (Years)

2. Tracking Difference

Measures how closely the ETF's return matches its benchmark index. A negative difference means the ETF underperformed the index.

Tracking Difference (%) = ETF Annual Return - Benchmark Annual Return

Note: For a passive ETF, this difference should ideally be near the Expense Ratio, but factors like transaction costs, sampling, and cash holdings can cause variance (positive or negative).
