Calories Burned Calculator 🔥
Estimate the energy (calorie) cost of any physical activity based on your weight and duration.
Calculation Method: The MET Formula
The estimation is based on the **Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET)**, which is the ratio of your working metabolic rate to your resting metabolic rate (BMR). 1 MET is equivalent to burning 1 calorie per kilogram of body weight per hour.
Formula for Calories Burned (kcal)
$$ \text{Calories} = (\text{MET} \times \text{Weight}_{\text{kg}} \times 3.5) / 200 \times \text{Duration}_{\text{min}} $$
Where: $\text{MET}$ = Activity's MET Value, $\text{Weight}_{\text{kg}}$ = Weight in kilograms, $\text{Duration}_{\text{min}}$ = Time spent in minutes.
This formula essentially calculates the **Rate of Energy Expenditure in (kcal/min)** and multiplies it by the duration.
