Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) Analyzer 🫁
Input your pulse oximeter reading to assess your oxygen level and check for signs of hypoxemia.
Understanding Oxygen Saturation (SpO2)
Oxygen saturation is a measure of how much oxygen the hemoglobin in the blood is carrying compared to how much it could potentially carry. It is measured non-invasively using a **pulse oximeter** (**SpO2**).
The Oxygen-Hemoglobin Dissociation Curve
While not a direct formula, the relationship between SpO2 and the partial pressure of oxygen in the blood (PaO2) is represented by the S-shaped curve:
A slight drop in SpO2 (e.g., 98% to 90%) corresponds to a large drop in PaO2.
This means a drop below 90% is clinically significant because the blood's ability to supply oxygen to tissues falls rapidly.
